Erin smiled, glad Katelyn was as enthusiastic as she was about this. "Well then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Erin said, excited. She and Katelyn seemed to be on the fast track to close friendship, even if she did appear to be a tomboy. Maybe not as much as Erin had thought, though. Most guys would sooner jump off a cliff than act. Erin didn't get that. Anyway, the male stars were lucky; they often got to kiss the pretty female star without having to make any effort to make the girl go out with him. Maybe it was the idea of wearing makeup that scared guys off.
Erin started to walk toward the gate leading out of the playground. She turned around to where Katelyn was. "Are you coming?" she asked.

"Yes!"
KK laughed and sprinted for the gate, getting there before Erin did. "Race you back to school?" she suggested mischievously, knowing perfectly well that her friend was wearing ridiculous shoes. With a secretive smile, she vaulted over the fence that divided the playground from the rest of the park, landing lightly on the other side.

Oh, shoot. Erin would probably never wear heels again. "No! I have heels on, remember!" she called. Hopefully Katelyn would stop. Erin didn't want to stumble back to the school to discover that Katelyn was no where to be found. That would be frustrating. Well, Katelyn seemed like the kind of person who would stop, unless the thought it was funny. Katelyn did seem the type who would play a slightly mean joke like that.

KK ran with a wide-open stride for about six feet after she vaulted the fence, then stopped as suddenly as if she had hit a brick wall. She turned back to look at Erin. "I knew that; I was kidding," the younger girl explained with a grin. At that juncture, a cloud of dust rose from a large patch of exposed earth and blew in the girls' direction, getting in KK's eyes, nose, and mouth. "Blecch!" she coughed, blinking away as much as she could from her eyes. At least she knew not to rub her eyes, as that could actually grind it in and damage her vision. "Eww, now I have dirt on my teeth!" she complained half-jokingly. It was true that she now had dirt on her teeth, but she was not quite as disgusted by that fact as she acted.
((Yay, that turned out far better than I thought it would!))
