The land of Alagaësia has calmed since the time of King Galbatorix and his dragon, Shruikan(A Dragon Stolen by Galbatorix). The king has been killed, his stolen dragon killed also. Eragon and Saphira have left the land, hoping to find a better life in the lands further from Alagaësia. It has been many years, many have died and many alliances have been abandoned, as hopes to forget about the time of the riders. No rider has been seen in over a hundred years and the land is peaceful.
However, the Empire has come into new hands, in a new King and Queen who have become greedy and wanting. King Taraern and Queen Valaer are no longer the caring King and Queen as they were in there young years. They wish for more power and they believe to have found a way, a way to become powerful.
The Varden, even though many had left, a few are still around. They have seen this from the King and Queen, they have witnessed the greed that is coming from them and they want nothing more then stop it before it gets out of hand, but how can they stop a rumor from spreading like wild fire.
The stories of Smooth rocks have begun to pop up in every town. People say these rocks are not just any form of rock, but in fact, Dragon Eggs. The King and Queen have gotten word and have sent the best soldiers to find the eggs and bring them to the Castle, but none are being found and both the King and Queen are becoming anger and greedy.
The King believes that the eggs are being hidden in the lands of Du Weldenvarden, where the Queen, Queen Tasalae, refuses to let them come into her boarders and into her hidden home land. He has also heard tell of them being in the Boer Mountains, with the Dwarfs, who's King, King Hach hides his home in plain site, if one will look under the ground, and then in Surda, where many go to take refudge under King Palor and Queen Eires. His outrage has become a tool to get what he wants. Many young men have joined his army, but then there is but one more rumor, one that he is destined to make true. That the eggs are in the depths of The Spine.
The King and Queen of the Empire are destined to find this eggs, but others are destined to make sure this does not happen.
Will you be destined to find the egg? Will you be controlled by the Empire or work independently with the Varden, Elves, and Dwarfs?
