Can I call you Di? "Diary" just sounds so over-the-top. I'd rather not be telling my secrets to someone whose name sounds all lacy and frilly.
Thanks. You know, Di, I thought that high school would be almost as bad as middle school was. It's a private school full of rich people, and it's in New York. Sounds totally awful in and of itself, doesn't it? But it isn't. The other kids... some of them are wonderful people. I'm pretty sure I've found two kindred spirits in my first week! I didn't think that was going to happen. I've just got to make sure that I don't make the same mistake I did last time. People are way too good at faking friendship for their own good.
All things considered, this has been fun. Something else is about to happen, I think, but I won't write it down until I'm sure. Even if it's just you and me reading this, Di, I don't want to record my suspicions until they've been either confirmed or denied.
